The objective of this qualification is to support learners wishing to become a paediatric first aider in the workplace with a responsibility for the welfare of infants and children. This qualification is intended for learners already working or preparing to work in industry. This qualification meets the requirements for Paediatric First Aid outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage.

This qualification is aimed at individuals wishing to become a paediatric first-aider in the workplace with a responsibility for the welfare of infants and children. This qualification is intended for learners already working or preparing to work in the industry and it meets the requirements for paediatric first aid outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Level 3 Paediatric First Aid Contents
- Roles and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider
- Primary and secondary survey
- Treating a breathing, unresponsive infant and child
- Treating a non breathing, unresponsive infant and child (CPR)
- Treating seizures
- Treating a chocking infant and child
- Treating different types of bleeds
- Treating an infant and child going into shock
- Treating an infant and child with bites, stings and minor injuries
- Treating burns and scalds
- Treating suspected poisoning
- Know how to treat an infant or child suffering from extreme heat and extreme cold
- Managing an infant and child with a severe allergic reaction
- Recognising and treating asthma and low blood sugar and meningitis
- Managing head injuries and spinal injuries
- Managing an infant and child with suspected injuries to bones, muscles and joints

Get the best of both worlds by cutting down on classroom time. Delegates undertake the self-study online learning component first. This online element focuses on the theory of the syllabus. They then spend one day in the classroom instead of two. The classroom day focuses on the practical elements of the course.

The online-learning part is completed at home or at work, followed by a one-day classroom course completed at your premises.
